Muscle Shoals producer and recording studio owner, responsible for what became known as "The Muscle Shoals Sound."

Among those who recorded at his FAME studios were Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Little Richard, Arthur Alexander and Etta James.
