WLS Top 40 for January 13, 1969-- Part 3: "Wichita Lineman"

30.  THIS MAGIC MOMENT--  Jay & the Americans     #6   Their last Top Ten.  Cover of an old Drifters song.  Jay was also known as "The Voice" and you can see why in this song.

29.  WICHITA LINEMAN--  Glen Campbell      #3   His first Top Ten.  Written by Jim Webb.  You can almost picture a guy out working on the lines.

28.  STAND BY YOUR MAN--  Tammy Wynette    #19     She actually had 12 songs that crossed over to pop, mostly in the #70s to 100.   How about that, two country songs in a row.  Even though he done you bad.  Loved the Blues Brothers version.

27.  BABY LET'S WAIT--   Royal Guardsmen     #35     What!!  No Snoopy?   Hard to imagine pleading with a gal to wait, though.   Novelty-pop sextet from Ocala, Florida.  Their last Top 100.

26.  CINNAMON--  Derek     #11     Sang "Mr. Bass Man"  (#16-1963)  as Johnny Cymball.  Real name John Hendry Blair, born in 1945.
