See If You Can Guess the Person Saying This-- Part 2: The Captain of the Titanic Talking About Lifeboats

**  Look, passengers need to ask nicely for the lifeboats if they want them.

**  We don't have any lifeboats.  We are not lifeboat distributors.

**  Passengers should have planned for icebergs and brought their own lifeboats.

**  I really don't think we need that many lifeboats.

**  And, those lifeboats we have are really wonderful lifeboats.

**We have lifeboats, and they're supposed to be our lifeboats. not the passengers' lifeboats.

**  The lifeboats were left on shore by the last captain.

**  Nobody could have foreseen the iceberg.

Figured out who it is yet?

See If You Can Guess the Person Saying This?-- Part 1: Iceberg? What Iceberg?

My wife Liz found this on FaceBook and I had to chuckle.  Had this person been captain of that ill-fated Titanic, he might have said this.

**  There isn't any iceberg.

**  There was an iceberg but it was in a totally different ocean.

**  The iceberg is in this ocean, but it will melt very soon.

**  There is an iceberg, but we didn't hit the iceberg.

**  We hit the iceberg, but the damage will be repaired very soon.

**  The iceberg is a Chinese iceberg.

**  We are taking on water, but every passenger who wants  a lifeboat can get a life boat.

**  They are beautiful life boats.

Past Movie Scratches (See If You Can Guess These Movies): Crusade-- Vacation-- Express-- Scrooged-- McPhee-- Feet

Past Movie Scratches--  Movies I watched on TV in 2019.  Sure going to have a lot of these for 2020 because of you-know-what.

A Dog's Eye View of the movies.

97.  INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE--  12-3--  "Don't call me Junior."  "Nazis, I hate those guys."  "X" doesn't mark the spot.

98.  CHRISTMAS VACATION--  12-4--  Just imagine living next door to Clark Griswold.   Even if you're not a snooty yuppy.

99.  POLAR EXPRESS--  12-6--  "We're on a tight schedule" and what a ticket punch.  You've got to believe to hear that bell.

100.  SCROOGED--  12-8--  Loved the Ghost of Christmas Past and Christmas Present.  Christmas Present could really hurt you, but Christmas Future scared me.

101.  NANCY McPHEE--  12-9--  "I did knock."  A "government nanny?"  Squares the kids up with the 5 Lessons and then there were the facial changes.

102.  HAPPY FEET--  12-10--  I can't stop dancing.  Great music and the choreography of those animated penguins!!    Mumbles couldn't sing, but sure saved the day.

Music Deaths: Johnny Mandel, that Song from 'M*A*S*H'

JOHNNY MANDEL, 94

Died 29 June 2020

If you've ever seen the movie or TV show "M*A*S*H" you are familiar with his song.  "Suicide Is Painless" serves as the introduction of both.  It was written for the suicide "Last Supper" scene in the movie where the guy was to commit suicide.

Director Robert Altman said he made $70,000 directing the movie, but that his son, Michael Altman, had made $1 million for writing the lyrics to the song.

"Through early morning fog I see

Visions of the things to be

The pains that are withheld for me I realize and I can see

That suicide is painless."

In case you're wondering what the words are.

American composer and arranger of popular songs, film music and jazz.  He also worked with artists such as Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Barbra Streisand and Tony Bennett.

Okay, now.  Get that tune out of your head.

Very unique sound all around.  A master of the fuzz guitar.

Wonder how they came up with the name Seeds?
