THURSDAY, JULY 10TH Went boating and then stopped at Fairmount Shores on Fox Lake for a drink and a Chain Crawl stamp. Then met Sue and Paul at Anastasia's in Antioch, Illinois. This is the first time we've been there and it is impressive and a very reasonable place attracting really big crowds. getting into and out of the parking lot is a major challenge.
Parked over by the It's Thursday festival grounds and went to Sequoit Lodge (also called "The Lodge") which is about as North Woods as you can get. Sequoit refers to the Indian tribe which used to live in the area. The high school team is the Sequoits but may have to change it.
Always a fun pre-It's Thursday stop for us and their kitchen opens tomorrow after being closed down for quite awhile after a fire.
The group playing tonight was the June Saturday Band who put on a great show.
FRIDAY, JULY 11TH: Went to the NAC (National Athletic Club)on Fox Lake to get a Chain Crawl passport stamp. This organization dates back to the 1880s. Then, met the Usual Suspects at Stormy Monday on Fox Lake and got another passport stamp. We sat out on the deck and enjoyed the great water view until they turned up the music so loud we couldn't talk anymore.
We left and went over to the Legion on Nippersink Lake where the music was quieter and Randy was putting all those great oldies of his own the jukebox.
