Bob Stroud did his third part of his annual trip back to the songs of 40 years ago this past Sunday on his Rock and Roll Roots Show on Chicago's WDRV, 97.1 FM. He goes back the 40 years on the first Sundays of June, July, August and September and plays the songs you'd be hearing on the radio and on your albums back then.
I was finishing the last of my summer enjoyment before starting my fourth year of teaching in Round Lake, Illinois, at Magee Middle School. We had also been in our new house in Round Lake Beach where we had been living since 1975. We bought it for $33,000 which was a real lot of music for us back then.
