Music Deaths: Joni Sledge
JONI SLEDGE, 60
Died March 10, 2017.
Founding member of Sister Sledge. Formed the group with sisters Debra, Kim and Kathy in 1971 in Philadelphia
Had hits with"He's the Greatest Dancer" (#9-1979) and "My Guy" (#23-1981) But their biggest hit by far was "We Are Family" (#2-1979)
Wasn't that the theme song of the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates?
