WLS Top 40 for April 8, 1968-- Part 3: ""Dock of the Bay"

30.  IN NEED OF A FRIEND--  Cowsills     #54    Five brothers, little sister and mother.  Never heard of this song before, but the more you hear it, the more you'll like it song.

29.  MONY MONY--  Tommy James & the Shondells    #3     Tommy James formed pop group Shondells at age 12.

28.  TAKE TIME TO KNOW HER--  Percy Sledge   #11   Pride of Leighton, Alabama.    Second biggest hit.  His biggest, of course "When a Man Loves a Woman"  #1 1966.  Not a good first wedding dance song, though.

27.  KISS ME GOODBYE--  Petula Clark    #15     Had six Top Tens and two #1s from 1964 to 1967.

26.  DOCK OF THE BAY--  Otis Redding   #1    His name IS SOUL.  Too bad he was already dead when this went to #1.

Name That Tune (from the above songs):  "I Took Her Home To Mama."   Answer below.  --RoadDog
