13. BLACK PEARL-- Sonny Charles #13 Listed in Joel Whitburn's Top Pop Singles 1955-1993 as being the Checkmates Ltd.. Sonny Charles was their vocalist. One of the prettiest-ever songs. A great slow-dancing song.
12. MY PLEDGE OF LOVE-- Joe Jeffrey Group #14 Real name Joseph Stafford Jr.. Died September 4, 2016. Their only Top 100.
11. WHAT DOES IT TAKE-- Jr. Walker & the Allstars #4 One of my all-time favorite soul songs. Takes me right back to the summer of '69.
