WLS Top 40 for February 12, 1968-- Part 1: "Love Is Blue"

Songs from WLS Survey Oldies Loon.  WLS was a major AM station in Chicago playing pop music back in the 1960s.

When I can't remember hearing the song, I go to You Tube and listen to it.  Comments are from Joel Whitburn's  "Top Pop Singles 1955-1993."

The number after the artist is how high it got on the Billboard Top 100.  (D) is a debut song.

40.  LOVE IS ALL AROUND--  Troggs   (D)  #7  Who says they can't be sweet after "Wild Thing"?   From Paramus, New Jersey.

39.  LOVE IS BLUE--  Al Martino    (D)  #57   So that is how Paul Mauriat's song goes.  Al Martino had 34 Top 100s from 1959-1978.

38.  KISS ME GOODBYE--  Petula Clark   (D)  #15   Pretty good song that I don't remember hearing.  3:56 long.

37.  I'M GONNA MAKE YOU LOVE ME--  Madeling Bell   (D)   #28   Actually her name was Madeline Bell.  Her only hit.   The Supremes and Temptations had a big hit with this song a year later.

36.  JEALOUS LOVE--  Wilson Pickett   (D)  #50   Never heard this song.  Anything by the Wicked Pickett, of course, is good.  From Prattville, Alabama.

Name That Tune (from the above songs):  "
