Played on many country, rock and pop songs as a member of Nashville's A-Team of session players which included Floyd Cramer on piano and pedal steel guitarist Pete Drake. One of the most recorded guitarists in music history.
Performed on hundreds of albums, including ones by Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, and Willie nelson.
Some of the well-known songs he performed on: Crazy, King of the Road, Crying, Rocking Around the Christmas Tree, Harper Valley PTA, Stand By Your Man, Battle of New Orleans and I'm Sorry.
