As I figured, gas prices around here jumped about 25 cents on Friday. Stations are selling for $2.19 and $2.20, here in northeastern Illinois around Fox Lake (right on the McHenry and Lake County border).
This makes three straight Fridays we've had 20-25 cent increases, followed by a 5-10 cent reduction before the next gouge.
Gas in Fox Lake was $1.48 on February 5, and now $2.20. That is a 72 cent increase in just over a month.
