Rock Deaths: Bob Montgomery, Edward Blivins and Millie Kirkham

BOB MONTGOMERY, 77

Died Dec. 4, 2014.  Sang in a duo with Buddy Holly before Holly went solo.

Wrote "Misty Blue" #3 1976 for Dorothy Moore.  Produced the forever gag song "Honey" for Bobby Goldsboro.

EDWARD "SONNY" BLIVINS, 78

Died Dec. 3, 2014.

Founder and singer with the Manhattans who had an early hit with "I Wanna Be Your Everything" #25 pop, #45 R&B.

The group had their biggest success in the 1970s with "Shining Star" #5 in 1980 and "Kiss and Say Goodbye" #1 in 1976.

MILDRED "MILLIE" KIRKHAM, 91.

Died Dec. 14, 2014.

Original high soprano backup to Elvis Presley.  Sand on "Blue Christmas," "Don't" "The Wonder of You" and "Surrender.

Also sang on Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman" and Brenda Lee's "I'm Sorry."
