Listen to this man. Seven years of college, you know. Trying to reason with 2020 and, now, 2022.

Summer 1977, 40th Anniversary-- 1: "Main Street"

Every summer, Bob Stroud on his Rock and Roll Roots show on Chicago's WDRV, goes back 40 years to that long-ago summer.  I mean L-O-N-G  AGO year.  He does it in four parts in June, July, August and September.  He started the first part Sunday, June 11.

As he says it, these are "Albums in your collection, songs on your radio."

So, let's set the Way-Back Machine to June 11, 1977.

THE THINGS WE DO FOR LOVE--  10CC
SOLSBURY HILL--  Peter Gabriel
MAIN STREET--  Bob Seger

LOVE ALIVE--  Heart
MARGARITAVILLE--  Jimmy Buffett    (It wasn't until the 80s that I started getting into J.B..  But then I really did.  I have most every album and CD of his.  The perfect sound for boating.)
INDIAN SUMMER--  Poco

Name That Tune (From the Above Songs):  "Nibblin' On Sponge Cake, Watchin' The Sun Bake."  --Answer Below.  --RoadDog

"Margaritaville"  Well... it IS summer, you know.  The perfect summer song and the name of my downstairs bar here at Key North.
