"Na Na, Hey, Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)" Gary DeCarlo Dies
This morning i was listening to Mary Dixon do the news on WXRT's Morning Show with Lin Brehmer and she said that Gary DeCarlo had died. He was the man who sang "Na Na, Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)" the song so connected with the Chicago White Sox originally and now all over the place in sports stadiums and arenas.
It didn't do too bad when it was released as well, going to #1 in 1969.
In 1976, Sox organist Nancy Faust started playing it whenever the other team put in a relief pitcher and it really caught on. Even Lin Brehmer, Super Super Cubs Fan that he is, played the song right after the news.
Thanks Mr. DeCarlo and Nancy. --RoadDog
