Vote for Preservation

I covered this in the other blog, but, American Express has put up $1 million to fund preservation projects on 25 different sites in the Chicagoland area.

The only catch is that you have to vote to determine who gets what. Only the top vote-getters will get this money.

A place in Chinatown is in the lead with 14% of the vote. Two other Frank Lloyd Wright sites are rapidly moving up. They are obviously very organized.

I'm backing four sites, two around here and two along the Lincoln Highway.

Around here: the Spring Grove Fish Hatchery and the Petersen Historic Farmstead in McHenry.

Lincoln Highway: the 1893 Viking ship from the Columbian Exposition in Geneva, and the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) Hall in Aurora.

You can vote for as many as you like once a day until October 10th.
