Listen to this man. Seven years of college, you know. Trying to reason with 2020 and, now, 2022.

Where Were You January 9, 1977?-- Part 2

Some more songs on the radio back 34 years ago.

MAYBE I'M AMAZED-- WINGS-- A couple selections from the biggest-selling album from 34 years ago, Wings Over America, a triple vinyl set featuring Paul McCartney and Wings finally coming home to roost in America.
BAND ON THE RUN-- WINGS

MADEMOISELLE-- STYX-- Hometown heroes.
SOMEBODY TO LOVE-- QUEEN--

SORRY SEEMS TO BE THE HARDEST WORD-- ELTON JOHN-- From Blue Moves.
NEW KID IN TOWN-- EAGLES-- First release from their new album Hotel California.

PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC-- WILD CHERRY-- (One of the great party dancing songs ever. Who says white guys can't sing soul?)
ROCK 'N ME-- STEVE MILLER BAND-- (A really hot group at the time.)

YOU ARE THE WOMAN-- FIREFALL--
MORE THAN A FEELING-- BOSTON-- (I told my students these guys were going to be big back when they came out in the fall of '76. They were shocked when Boston was big. How could an "old guy" know that?)

STAND TALL-- BURTON CUMMINGS-- The Guess Who had called it a day and this was the first time out for the former lead singer.

BLINDED BY THE LIGHT-- MANFRED MANN-- #1 in Chicago this date. Written by Bruce Springsteen. (Those old "Doo Wah Diddy Diddy" guys back a long time later.)
