25 Chart Facts You Didn't Know About Elvis-- Part 2

Continued from January 8th.

6.  Had a #1 album Elv1s: 30 No. Hits in 2002, 25 years after his death.  No one else has a #1 album that long after their death.

7.  Four of Elvis' albums: Elvis Presley and the soundtracks to "Loving You,"  "G.I. Blues" and "Blue Hawaii" each logged ten or more weeks at #1.  Only the Beatles stayed that long at #1 with four different albums.

8.  Elvis had 17 #1 hits.  Only the Beatles, with 20, had more and Mariah Carey with 18, had more.  Also, six Elvis songs peaked at #2.  The biggest one, "Return to Sender" was at #2 for 5 weeks in 1962, stuck behind the Four Seasons "Big Girls Don't Cry."

9.  Elvis had 24 consecutive top 5 hits (excluding B-sides, EPs and old Sun Records recordings)  The streak started with "Heartbreak Hotel" in April 1956 and ended with "Return to Sender" in Nov. 1962.  "One Broken Heart for Sale" broke that streak when it "only" reached #11 in March 1963.

10.  Six Elvis singles reached #1 in both the U.S. and U.K..    That is a record for a male artist.
