25 Chart Facts You Didn't Know About Elvis-- Part 3

11.  The "Blue Hawaii" soundtrack was #1 for 20 weeks.  Only three other artist-linked soundtracks had #1s for 20 or more weeks: Bee Gees "Saturday Night Fever" (24 weeks in '78), Prince's "Purple Rain" (24 weeks in '84-'85) and Whitney Houston's "The Bodyguard" (20 weeks '92-'93).

12.  Seven of Elvis' top ten hits were from movies.  The first was "Love Me Tender" (#1 Oct. 1956) and last "Bossa Nova Baby" From "Fun in Acapulco" (#8 Nov. 1963).

13.  Elvis' biggest 60s hit was "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" (six weeks #1) and received a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year.  It was first a hit for female singer Vaughn De Leath in 1927, 8 years before Elvis was born.

14.  Singer Jaye P. Morgan had a chart hit with "Are You Lonesome Tonight" in Feb.. 1959, nearly two years before Elvis.

15.  Elvis' biggest hit of the 70s was "Burning Love" (#2 in Oct. 1972)  It was kept from the #1 spot by another 50s performer's "My Ding-A-Ling" by Chuck Berry.
