SATURDAY, AUGUST 15TH-- Sunnyside Tavern in Johnsburg. Grand opening of the Drop Zone Bar (named for parachuters) at the Fox Lake American Legion. Country band Mason Rivers playing on the outside stage. Then, the Lakes Swing Band playing at the Dog 'N Suds in Ingleside. Classic cars and those great Charcoburgers and root beer. Then the Spring Grove Firefighters' Steak Fry at Horse Fair Park.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 16TH-- Sunnyside Tavern. Hickory Lodge in McCullom Lake for pizza. Nauti-Knots on Bluff Lake for the Tiki Bar, Captain's Quarters for the band and then Lake View Place.
Today, it is boating and a classic car show in McHenry.
As a matter of fact, the really BAD thing around here right now are the really HOT temperatures and the $3.40 a gallon gasoline thanks to the good folks at BP.
