WILLIE C. JACKSON, 79. Died Feb. 18, 2015.
Native of Gary, Indiana and member of the Sparrows who formed at Roosevelt High School there. Best-known for their hit "Goodnight Sweetheart Goodnight" which went to #5 R&B in 1954. I played this song many times when i was a deejay. Guess when I played it.
LEW SOLOFF, 71. Died March 8, 2015.
Trumpeter with the group Blood, Sweat & Tears who played on five of their albums. Played on such hits as "You've Made Me So very Happy" (#2-1969), "Spinning Wheel" (#2-1969) and "When I Die" (#2-1969).
