Every Blooming THing, September 2018: End of Summer
As the days of summer RAPIDLY wind down.
The goldenrods and a miniature daisy perennial are in bloom as are the sedum. The bees, wasps and all sorts of stingers really enjoy the goldenrod and the miniature daisies, so if you accidentally bump into these plants, you'd best run really fast.
A few of the mums are blooming, but the rest have numerous buds and will put on a splendid display soon. The black-eyes Susans are almost all gone as are the purple coneflowers. I am leaving the purple coneflowers upright as they are a favorite food source of the yellow finches.
The apple tree has more fruit than I've ever seen it have before. The crabapple trees have managed to keep their leaves a whole lot longer. The Japanese lilacs and honeylocusts are just now starting to turn colors.
But, the mosquitoes are the worst I've ever seen them, and they're hungry for your blood. They swarm. Today, we got in the car and had to beat off about six of them who got inside. I can't even sit out on the front porch right now.

REPORTED IN THE NEWSPAPER ( Orange Peel Gazette): AT&T fited President John Walter after nine months, saying he lacked "intellectual leadership." He received a $26 million severance package. Perhaps its not Walter who's lacking intelligence.
