Da Story Behind Da New Bear Fight Song

Sunday, December 20th, I wrote about the new Bears Fight Song that is steadily gaining popularity with Bear fans all over the Chicagoland area.

Here's some background on the song according to the December 18th Chicago Tribune.

It all started back on a thorough 41-21 thumping of the Bears by the Cardinals back in November (at our other Bear Party). Fan Joe Schmitt sat in Soldier Field with buddies and they began altering the words to the "Bear Down" fight song.

Riding home, he began putting the finishing touch on his new and more appropriate fight song. This last Thursday, he and friends gathered to shoot a video which he has dubbed "Chicago Bears Fight Song (frustrated fan version)."

See Sunday's entry for the words, and, if you are a Bear fan, sing along.

The video was available on the Chicago Tribune site or liedownchicagobears.com

I just couldn't get it out of my mind while I watched the latest effort in futility against Baltimore. To paraphrase Bluto in "Animal House," where's the Delta fire I used to know?
