Pretty Good Weekend--Part 1-- NIU Homecoming

FRIDAY OCTOBER 15TH

Spent the afternoon hanging on for dear life and staining the upper level of the gazebo roof and two of the lower level panels. One lil' slip and it's a long way down.

Met the usual suspects at Gasoline Alley on Grasslake for those buck domestic bottles.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 16TH

Drove out to Dekalb for Huskie Homecoming 2010. Liz and I used to do this all the time, but haven't for at least eight years. We were luck enough to get a hotel room after we got there because of cancellations, but paid dearly for it.

Did some tailgating and then saw the game which Northern won big-time after a slow start.

Left on the fourth quarter so we could get a seat in Lord Stanley's to see the Dekalb institution Dekalb Footstompers play in their 37th straight NIU Homecoming. Great party as usual.

Back to the hotel, but found a line waiting at Fatty's to see the Modern Day Romeos play. Walked to Pizza Pros and met the folks we had talked to at the game. He was a member of the 1983 Huskie California Bowl team.

Afterwards, we were serenaded by the Modern Day Romeos who were playing outside at a tent behind Fatty's which is next to our hotel.

A Good Day, Indeed. --RoadDog
