Listen to this man. Seven years of college, you know. Trying to reason with 2020 and, now, 2022.

The Late Great Clarence Clemons-- Part 2

From Wikipedia.

CLARENCE CLEMONS ( Jan. 11, 1942-June 18, 2011)

Member of Bruce Springsteen's E. Street Band from 1972 until his death.  Made several solo albums (I have one).  In 1985, he had a hit with Jackson Browne on "You're A Friend of Mine."

He cited an uncle who influenced him in his youth when he bought him a King Curtis album.

Attended Maryland State College on both a music and football scholarship.  The Cleveland Browns offered him a trial, but he got into a car accident the day before.

He met Springsteen in 1971 while both were playing in different bands.  On the Greetings From Asburg Park album, he did vocals on two of the songs.
