Died June 15, 2014, age 82.
Just as important as Dick Clark in early pop and rock music, Casey got the tunes across. I spent many an hour listening to his shows back in my deejay days to find out what the pop songs sounded like. I could get the names of big songs from various lists, but I needed to hear them to see if I wanted to include them in my traveling songs for shows.
His was a very familiar voice.
Kind of always reminded me of the Mr. Rogers of the older kids.
