These are deaths that happened in the music world that had an impact on me.
HILANO "LARRY" RAMUS, 71: Died April 30, 2014. Early member of the Association, born in Hawaii. Member of the New Christy Minstrels before joining the Association. Sang on "Windy" (#1-1967), "Never My Love" (#2--1967) and "Everything That Touches You" (#10-- 1968). The Association was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
JESSICA CLEAVES, 65: Died May 2, 2014. Original member of the Friends of Distinction and later sang with Earth, Wind and Fire and Parliament/Funkadelic. The Friends of Distinction formed in Los Angeles in 1966 and were discovered by football player-turned-actor Jim Brown who got them signed with RCA.
She sang on hits "Grazing in the Grass" (#3--1969), "Love Or Let Me Be Lonely" (#6-- 1970) and "Going in Circles" (#15-- 1969).
