The Drive's Album Sides Thursday: On Vinyl

Chicago's WDRV 97.1 FM is having an album sides May Day today, something they unfortunately only do once or twice a year.  I wouldn't mind having it once a month myself.  Anyway, they play a whole album side ON VINYL, complete with hisses and pops.

That's just the way I used to play 'em back at home in Palatine, Il., the dorms at NIU, the frat house at NIU, home in Dunwoody, Ga., at the dorms and trailer at UGA, apartment in DeKalb, then apartments in Des Plaines and Vernon Hills, Illinois, and our home in Round Lake Beach, Illinois.  Even occasionally here in Spring Grove (where I usually play CDs).

Back then, I either stacked them, played them, then flipped them, or, once I got better turntables, played only one and then flipped it.

You hear the needle drop then they play the whole side, commercial free.

Albums played so far today:(Side)  year:

ASIA (1) '82
LED ZEPPELIN III (2) 1970
BROTHERS IN ARMS--  Dire Straits  (1) 1985
TED NUGENT  1975

THE JOSHUE TREE--  U2  (1) 1987

AJA--  Steely Dan  (1) 1977
STREET SURVIVORS--  Lynyrd Skynyrd (1) 1977

I should mention that tomorrow's Ten at Ten is 1968.
